We will help you identify the appropriate technologies, including technologies like Wireless and Broadband LTE networks, active and passive fiber optic infrastructure, public safety systems, and more.
We will help you to identify the best providers for your organization, business, or community network and make sure you have the services that stand out in today's broadband marketplace.
We get the network built right. Whether it is Fiber to the Home, Community Broadband or Fiber Broadband Planning we will manage the bid process for engineering, contractor, and equipment selection, provide oversight of design/build firms that are constructing the network, and make sure the system works properly when construction is complete.
Network Operations Best Practices
Once built, the network has to deliver services reliably. We will make sure you have the expertise to run the network.
Our financial analyses consider build out costs, operational costs, staffing, maintenance, project cash flow, revenue, income, and depreciation. We will identify funding strategies and assist with funding proposals.
PROJECT SPOTLIGHTS
Charles City County, Virginia - If you think small rural communities can't get world class fiber and wireless, talk to us. We provided the planning for Charles City County's fiber and wireless network that we are currently building. We brought in a Tier One service provider and a wireless provider for this open access network.
Southwest Virginia - The Wired Road is successfully operating integrated fiber and wireless infrustructure in rural southwest Virginia. Design Nine has provided project management and engineering for more than $4 million in wireless and fiber broadband expansion. We recently completed the Gigabit fiber to the home portion of that effort in a small rural community in the Wired Road service area.
Danville, Virginia - nDanville is the first municipally owned open access, open services network in the United States. nDanville is in its eighth year of operation and has expanded steadily. nDanville fiber has been a key part of a highly successful economic revitalization in Danville.
Palm Coast, Florida - Design Nine assisted the City of Palm Coast with the conversion of its city-only fiber network to a carrier-class open access network. Palm Coast FiberNet has four providers in the community colocation center. The project was in the black in year one, and is now in its sixth year of operation.
Rockbridge Broadband Authority - Design Nine provided the network design, project management and engineering for this $10 million Gigabit open access network with over 100 miles of fiber and a major regional data center.
New Hampshire FastRoads - Design Nine has been helping the 43 towns of the FastRoads region of New Hampshire since 2009. We provided the network design, engineering, and project management to build out the stimulus-funded regional fiber network now providing Gigabit fiber access in 20 FastRoads towns.
Gigabit Network Planning - We continue to provide broadband planning for open access, multi-service, multi-provider network throughout North America, with projects underway in the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean.
